Аннотация
Art museums and galleries are places of cultural exchange where artworks are not only displayed but also interpreted by audiences. The acceptance of art in these spaces is influenced by psychological, cultural, and social factors that shape individuals' perceptions and emotional responses to art. This paper explores the psychology behind how art is perceived and accepted in museums and galleries, examining cognitive and emotional processes that affect viewers’ engagement with artworks. The study considers factors such as familiarity, personal experiences, social influence, and the framing of art within the context of the museum environment. Theories from psychology, including the concept of aesthetic experience, the role of emotional engagement, and cognitive dissonance, are applied to explain why some artworks are embraced while others are rejected. Furthermore, the paper discusses the role of curatorial practices and the museum’s role in shaping artistic tastes and preferences. By integrating psychological theories with practical examples, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the psychological dynamics that underlie art acceptance in these cultural spaces.
