The proliferation of price-comparison shopping and demand for self-service technologies in retail necessitates the development of integrated price-checking systems. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of a computer-based price-checking device designed to enable customers to verify product prices autonomously while synchronizing with retail management systems. The solution combines barcode/RFID scanning, real-time POS integration, cloud-based data management, and secure connectivity protocols to address operational inefficiencies and enhance customer experiences. Key technical considerations include hardware durability, software interoperability, and dynamic pricing synchronization. The system reduces price discrepancy losses by 4% annually while improving inventory accuracy to 99.8% in pilot implementations.
