This paper explores the balance between Teacher Talking Time (TTT) and Student Talking Time (STT) in military English instruction. Military students require both receptive and productive language skills to effectively communicate in structured, high-pressure environments. While TTT provides essential guidance, excessive teacher talk can hinder active student participation and learning. Conversely, maximizing STT helps develop fluency, confidence, and practical communication skills. This study highlights methods such as role-plays, group discussions, drills, and task-based learning to enhance STT while maintaining necessary teacher guidance. The paper concludes with strategies for achieving an optimal TTT-STT balance, ensuring military students acquire the necessary language proficiency for their professional roles.
