Аннотация

This article explores the influence of age on second language acquisition (SLA), focusing on theories like the Critical Period Hypothesis (CPH), which suggests a biologically optimal period for language learning. It examines how younger learners have an advantage in phonological acquisition, while adults excel at mastering grammar and vocabulary. The article also emphasizes the importance of motivation, exposure, and individual differences in the SLA process. It concludes that while age does affect language learning, effective teaching strategies and immersive environments can enable learners of all ages to achieve high proficiency.
