The increasing accumulation of plastic waste poses significant environmental challenges, necessitating innovative solutions for waste management and resource utilization. This research paper explores the potential of incorporating plastic waste into asphalt production as a sustainable alternative to traditional materials. By analyzing various types of plastics and their effects on the mechanical properties of asphalt, this study aims to assess the feasibility and performance of plastic-modified asphalt mixtures. Preliminary findings indicate that the addition of plastic waste can enhance the durability, flexibility, and resistance to deformation of asphalt, thereby improving road performance and longevity. This approach not only addresses the pressing issue of plastic waste but also contributes to the development of more sustainable infrastructure solutions.
