Аннотация
In the realm of English language teaching, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) holds a significant place due to its targeted focus on learners’ academic or professional needs. One of the core skills in ESP instruction is reading, as learners often require the ability to understand texts related to their specific fields—be it medicine, engineering, business, agriculture, or law. Unlike general English classes, ESP reading instruction demands not only language competence but also familiarity with domain-specific vocabulary, text structures, and discourse styles. This article explores the peculiarities of teaching reading in ESP contexts, emphasizing strategies, challenges, and best practices that lead to improved reading comprehension and learner autonomy.
