Аннотация

Bionics for cognitive and sensory enhancement represents a frontier in neuroengineering, integrating neural interfaces, sensory prostheses, and AI to restore or augment brain and sensory functions. This review traces the evolution from early sensory implants to advanced BCIs, analyzing clinical outcomes, technological advancements, and challenges like neural integration and ethical concerns. Drawing on publications from 1970–2025, including bibliometric data and clinical trials, it highlights achievements such as 85% accuracy in BCI-controlled communication and 70% improvement in cognitive task performance. Future directions include closed-loop neuromodulation, optogenetic hybrids, and accessible cognitive therapies.
