Dancing after disaster represents a convergence of bionic technology and expressive arts, enabling individuals with severe mobility impairments to engage in dance for rehabilitation and emotional healing. This review traces the evolution from basic prosthetics to advanced bionic systems, analyzing their application in dance, clinical outcomes, and challenges like accessibility and customization. Drawing on publications from 2000–2025, including case studies and clinical trials, it highlights achievements such as 90% gait symmetry in bionic legs and 85% accuracy in neural-controlled movements. Future directions include AI-optimized choreography, sensory-enhanced prosthetics, and inclusive dance programs.
