BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN IT INNOVATION AND ORGANIZATIONAL DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

This paper investigates the dynamic relationship between information technology (IT) innovation and organizational digital transformation, focusing on the mechanisms through which innovation in IT catalyzes sustainable enterprise-wide transformation. Despite extensive research on both domains, the integration between IT innovation processes and organizational transformation strategies remains underexplored. Using a mixed-methods design that combines qualitative case analysis and quantitative data evaluation, this study identifies key enablers, barriers, and governance mechanisms that facilitate alignment between technological innovation and strategic digital transformation. Results indicate that organizations with integrated innovation ecosystems, cross-functional collaboration, and adaptive leadership achieve significantly higher transformation maturity levels. The study concludes that bridging the gap between IT innovation and digital transformation requires not only technological agility but also cultural and structural alignment, emphasizing that successful transformation is an iterative process of co-evolution between technology and organizational capability.
