Аннотация
Dowletmammet Azady, a leading 18th-century Turkmen poet and Sufi scholar, played a crucial role in shaping the moral, spiritual, and linguistic foundations of Turkmen literary tradition. His mastery of Persian, Arabic, and Turkic languages allowed him to produce works that combined ethical philosophy, social critique, and spiritual reflection. As the primary educator of his son Magtymguly Pyragy, Azady had an enduring influence on one of Turkmenistan’s greatest poets. Through his didactic poem Wagzy-Azat and other treatises and lyrical works, he articulated a vision of social justice, national identity, and spiritual cultivation. His commitment to Turkmen language and classical literary forms forged a bridge between Sufi thought and emerging national consciousness. Azady’s legacy resonates in Turkmen cultural memory, literary scholarship, and contemporary national identity.
