The increasing demand for sustainable and safe construction materials has driven the development of environmentally friendly fire-retardant coatings. Conventional fire-retardant paints often contain halogenated compounds that pose environmental and health risks. This study focuses on the development of eco-friendly fire-retardant paint formulations based on non-toxic and sustainable materials. Intumescent systems composed of ammonium polyphosphate (APP), pentaerythritol (PER), and melamine (MEL) were investigated as core components. The formulation was optimized using water-based binders to reduce volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. The thermal stability, fire resistance, and mechanical properties of the coatings were evaluated. The results demonstrate that the developed coatings exhibit effective flame retardancy, reduced environmental impact, and potential for application in modern construction systems.
