Аннотация
This article explores effective conversational topics and pedagogical strategies for intermediate learners of Japanese as a foreign language (JFL). At the intermediate level, learners transition from controlled language production to more spontaneous and context-sensitive communication. Drawing on insights from Second Language Acquisition, communicative language teaching, and discourse-based pedagogy, this study outlines thematic domains that promote linguistic complexity and pragmatic competence. Additionally, it evaluates a range of practice methods designed to enhance fluency, interactional skills, and sociolinguistic awareness in Japanese conversation.
