Аннотация

Alhagi maurorum is a perennial medicinal plant widely distributed in arid and semi-arid regions of Central Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. The plant is recognized as an important natural source of biologically active secondary metabolites, particularly saponins, which possess significant pharmacological and industrial value. Saponins are glycosidic compounds characterized by amphiphilic properties and diverse biological activities including antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, anticancer, and immunomodulatory effects. This article presents a detailed scientific review of technologies used for the extraction, isolation, purification, and characterization of saponins from Alhagi maurorum. Conventional extraction methods are compared with advanced green extraction technologies such as ultrasound-assisted extraction, microwave-assisted extraction, and supercritical fluid extraction. The physicochemical properties, structural characteristics, and industrial applications of saponins are critically analyzed. Particular attention is devoted to pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food, agricultural, and nanotechnological applications. Current technological limitations and future perspectives for industrial-scale production are also discussed.
