Аннотация

Sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) is a nutritionally valuable medicinal plant recognized for its exceptionally high content of bioactive compounds, including vitamins, carotenoids, flavonoids, phenolic acids, and essential fatty acids. Among these constituents, ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is one of the most important phytochemicals due to its potent antioxidant activity and numerous physiological functions. Sea buckthorn berries contain significantly higher concentrations of ascorbic acid than many conventional fruits, making them an attractive natural source for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and food industries. This article reviews the extraction techniques, factors affecting extraction efficiency, analytical characterization, and industrial applications of ascorbic acid obtained from sea buckthorn.
