Аннотация
The increasing dependence of modern societies on telecommunications infrastructure has intensified the need to protect communication networks against rapidly evolving cyber threats. This study examines emerging attacks affecting contemporary telecommunications systems and evaluates defensive strategies suitable for increasingly software-defined, cloud-integrated, and interconnected environments. A qualitative methodology based on structured literature analysis, threat classification, and comparative security assessment was employed. The findings identify ransomware, distributed denial-of-service attacks, supply-chain compromise, signaling exploitation, credential theft, artificial intelligence-assisted attacks, and vulnerabilities in fifth-generation and Internet of Things environments as significant threats. The analysis indicates that conventional perimeter-oriented security provides insufficient protection against contemporary attack patterns. Effective telecommunications security requires zero-trust principles, continuous monitoring, network segmentation, secure software development, automated threat detection, resilient recovery mechanisms, and coordinated supply-chain governance. The study concludes that cybersecurity must be incorporated throughout the telecommunications infrastructure lifecycle to maintain confidentiality, integrity, availability, and operational resilience.
