Аннотация

English is used in official documents when civil servants communicate with international institutions, exchange administrative information, prepare reports, and coordinate professional activities. Such documents require language that is accurate, clear, appropriately formal, and organized according to the purpose and audience. This article examines the features of English usage in official documents prepared or handled by civil servants. It discusses lexical precision, grammatical choices, document structure, conventional expressions, tone, and the importance of consistency and confidentiality. The article argues that effective official writing is not achieved by using complicated language, but by selecting wording and structure that make responsibilities, decisions, deadlines, and requested actions easy to understand. Practical recommendations are offered for improving the quality of English-language administrative documents.
