Аннотация

Civil servants may need to use English across a range of formal workplace genres, including official emails, letters, reports, meeting documents, and presentations. Teaching these styles effectively requires more than explaining grammar and formal vocabulary; learners need opportunities to practise authentic communication, receive feedback, and adapt language to different audiences and purposes. This article discusses innovative pedagogical methods for teaching official styles of English to civil servants. It focuses on task-based learning, simulations, flipped learning, collaborative writing, digital tools, corpus-informed learning, and reflective assessment. The article argues that these approaches can connect classroom instruction with workplace needs when they are guided by clear objectives, reliable materials, and responsible use of technology. A practical, learner-centred model is proposed to support clarity, accuracy, professional tone, and transfer of learning to real administrative contexts.
