Аннотация

Feedback is an essential component of the educational process because it helps students understand their academic performance, identify learning difficulties, and recognize opportunities for improvement. In contemporary education, feedback is increasingly viewed not simply as a method of correcting mistakes but as a pedagogical instrument that influences students’ motivation, confidence, engagement, and academic development. This article examines the impact of feedback on students’ academic motivation and learning progress, with particular attention to the relationship between feedback practices, self-regulated learning, learner autonomy, and academic achievement. It explores the characteristics of effective feedback and discusses the limitations of approaches that focus exclusively on grades, errors, or general praise. Furthermore, the article considers practical strategies for providing constructive feedback in higher education, including individualized comments, formative assessment, peer assessment, self-assessment, and digital feedback tools. The article argues that feedback produces the greatest educational benefits when it is clear, timely, specific, respectful, and directly connected to achievable learning objectives. The effective implementation of feedback can contribute to a supportive learning environment in which students become more motivated, reflective, and independent learners.
